Privacy Information for Survey Participants
Version: 1.0 Effective from: 2026-10-09 Provider: Paul Bengart, Keplerstraße 4A, 39104 Magdeburg, Germany
You are taking part in a survey that was created with Choicery. This page briefly explains the role of the platform and what it processes technically. It does not replace the privacy notice of the survey's creator.
1. Who is responsible for the survey
Choicery is a technical service provider. The person or organisation that created the survey (the creator) is responsible for the survey, its questions, the purpose, the legal basis and the period for which your responses are stored. The creator is also responsible for informing you about the processing of your data. Who the creator is and how to reach them is stated in the creator's privacy notice, which the creator provides in the survey or in the invitation; Choicery provides technical means for this. Choicery (Paul Bengart, Magdeburg) processes your responses as a processor on the creator's instructions and does not use them for its own purposes or for training models; this does not affect troubleshooting and security.
2. What the platform processes technically
- Connection data when pages are requested. To deliver the survey pages, the server processes your IP address, the time, the requested address and your browser identifier. These details are held in server logs that are kept for no longer than 14 days. Events used to defend against attacks and abuse may be kept longer; IP addresses in them are truncated after 90 days.
- Necessary cookies. A session cookie stores your progress so that you can resume the survey within 24 hours, and protects against forged submissions. A further cookie (
choicery_asset_release_<ID>, only for image addresses, 24 hours) ensures that images and media are loaded from the version of the survey you started on. Choicery sets no analytics, statistics or advertising cookies and therefore shows no cookie banner. - Your responses. Stored are your answers, the completion status, timestamps, the time spent on each page and the version of the survey assigned to you. If the creator uses personalised invitation links, the code assigned by the creator (for example a panel identifier) is stored as well.
- What is not stored. Response records contain no IP address, no full browser identifier and no device fingerprint; the creator does not see your IP address. Choicery does not determine your location, does not track you across other websites and does not disclose your data to advertising or analytics services. Fonts and scripts are delivered by Choicery itself; the exception is embedded videos after you click (section 3).
Which questions are asked, and whether you are asked for your name, email address or other details, is decided by the creator.
3. Embedded videos
If a survey page contains a video from YouTube or Vimeo, only a placeholder is shown before you click; no connection to the video provider is made. The video is loaded only when you click on play. From that moment, the video provider (YouTube via youtube-nocookie.com, Vimeo with the Do Not Track setting enabled) receives your IP address and browser data and may set its own cookies. Vimeo is based in the USA. The creator is responsible for the legal basis for this transfer and for informing you. If you do not click, nothing is transmitted to the video provider.
4. Where and for how long your responses are stored
The servers are located in Germany (application and files at netcup in Nuremberg, database at Ubicloud in Frankfurt am Main); remote access by the database provider's support from the USA is possible. The service providers used are listed in the list of sub-processors. How long your responses are stored is determined by the creator. Choicery deletes responses on the creator's instructions, when the project or account is deleted, and after the creator's contract ends. Responses deleted by the creator are permanently deleted once the creator also deletes them from the project's bin.
5. Your rights
Please direct your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the withdrawal of consent, to the creator; the creator's privacy notice gives their contact details. If such a request reaches Choicery (privacy@choicery.ai), we forward it to the creator and inform you of this. Choicery can normally not attribute responses to a person, because the platform does not store participants' contact details unless the creator asks for them. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; the authority competent for Choicery is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Sachsen-Anhalt (State Commissioner for Data Protection of Saxony-Anhalt), Otto-von-Guericke-Straße 34a, 39104 Magdeburg, Germany.
6. Reporting abuse
If a survey contains illegal content, is directed at children, asks for passwords or payment details, pressures you into giving information you do not want to give, or violates the Acceptable Use Policy, please report it through the "Report abuse" link at the bottom of the survey pages or by email to abuse@choicery.ai. We review every report.
